When crisis strikes, experts know that small businesses need to recover quickly, to restore, commerce, goods and services. Economic recovery depends on it. In Jamaica, 97% of all businesses are MSMEs. They are the backbone of the economy and play a significant role in job creation, tax collections and living standards. Women make up just over 50% of all small and micro enterprise owners in Jamaica, yet they face a few more challenges when crisis strikes - Family burden of care, access to capital and land tenure issues to name a few.
