Lumen and the vessel reach the Clockwork Tower, a strange building filled with security robots and the Cleament, a collective of steampunk machines that erase Lightner memories. As they climb the tower, they meet a hooded figure who warns them to turn back. Undeterred, they press on and find that the Cleaments possess pieces of Lumen's forgotten memories. Lumen's memories reveal a sorrowful past with Father Alvin and a childhood in an orphanage. He became obsessed with the idea of paradise and sought approval, which ultimately led him down a dark path. After making their way through the tower, Lumen faces the Great Archive, realizing it contains the final piece of his memory, which the hooded figure, later revealed to be the dark prince, tries to keep him from accessing. Despite the prince's warnings about a violent memory that could revert Lumen to a dangerous state, Lumen absorbs the memory but then collapses. In a mental struggle, Lumen confronts his past self and learns about the actions that caused the creation of dark fountains and his fall into violence. In the end, he chooses redemption over his old ways. Upon waking, Lumen, now at peace with his past, faces the dark prince, who discloses his intentions to shield Lumen from the truth. They come to an understanding, recognizing their parts in the conflict. With his memories restored, Lumen sets out to confront Father Alvin, determined to thwart any evil plans and uncover the truth behind their shared dark history. The chapter concludes with Lumen and the dark prince parting ways as Lumen readies himself for the final confrontation. --- What is Deltarune: Freedom Edition? (Quick summarization) Deltarune: Freedom Edition (or FE) is a Deltarune take made primarily by Razor X o (Glazko), usually referred simply as Glazko. The main focus of the take are the “secret bosses”, as the plot revolves entirely about them and leaves concepts of Deltarune’s main plot aside like the Angel or Dess as something secondary. The first thing to point out about FE is that the events of Deltarune never took place. FE takes place in an alternative plot, in which the Knight (not the same one seen in chapter 3, keep in mind this take was created before it was released) created a dark fountain that covered all Hometown before the events of chapter 1, and we play a long time after this takes place. We do not play as Kris, who is a separate character in this take, but instead we play as the Vessel, who has the objective to find as many secret bosses (who are referred as “the victims”) as possible and reclaim their Shadow Crystals to bring them back to THE MAN, as he needs them for an unknown purpose. FE adds a really big amount of new characters, even including a few new lightners. Most of the “victims” were created by Glazko, but there are multiple secret bosses made by other people who appear in Freedom Edition too, such as the ones in Deltarune or Kittblush’s secret bosses. The idea is that FE would be easy to mod so anybody could add their own secret bosses (Warning: There are no plans to make a fangame for FE, at least for now. This take is just a concept). The game would be presented as a metroidvania, in which you need to go around the great darkworld (which covers all Hometown, but is divided into smaller darkworlds) trying to find secret bosses. You only require 7 shadow crystals to complete the game, but you can always explore for more secret bosses in case you wish to. FE has a total of 32 secret bosses (and this number keeps increasing), some of them being main characters, other being required battles, and some even being “secret secret bosses”, as what would normally be considered secret bosses in Deltarune are actually main bosses in FE.
