POM Conversations #4 with Claire Adams

Claire Adams is a talented soprano and violinist of Spanish-Dutch roots with an early but promising career in contemporary music. She studied classical singing and violin at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Tilburg, where she was awarded the Jacques de Leeuw Prize for young performing talents in 2019. Claire not only wants to make beautiful music, but also wants to add relevant content to her expression. She strives for depth and reflection in our rapidly changing society. In her live classical-contemporary performances she takes the listener into an intriguing musical dialogue between singing and violin, creating an atmosphere that can lead to reflection. She is currently developing herself further in the program Music Hub Brabant, where she receives coaching from the internationally renowned soprano Claron McFadden. Claire also has been studying the bachelor Philosophy at the Spanish Distance University (UNED) since 2019. The program supports her in providing her projects with a clear theoretical basis. During her Artist Portrait Livestream on April 30 at POM Eindhoven, Claire will perform the Pre-Premiere of the composition “RE: WINTERREISE”. This piece for the combination of voice and violin was written by the Spanish composer Jesús Castañer for her new performance INCOHERENCE. The concept of this composition will also function as a guideline to delve deeper into her own vision and motivation as an artist: a glimpse into her own “winterrreise”.
