At the last meeting of the "Association for African Culture", Eric Makin, Hamburg, from the "Shikra Online Platform" gave a lecture on "Modern African Art" and quoted the upcoming auction at Sotheby's on May 16th. I am basically not particularly interested in this topic. But, of course, African photography from the sixties, seventies, and eighties has often come to my attention in Africa. When I took a look at Sotheby's catalog, I also discovered a photograph of my friend Adama Kouyaté. I had an exhibition and other photographers of early West African Photography in 2010 in our gallery in Segou.
