Just wait until last thing at night, then cut a lemon in half, stab it a few times in the fleshy part with a fork to loosen, then twist a half onto the faucet of your tap and secure it with a rubber band. Take it off in the morning, give it a quick wipe and your tap should be lime scale free. Next up, window cleaner. Again, vinegar works brilliantly with a little cool boiled water but if you happen to have a fizzy water maker like this one then you can add that to the mix and it will do an even better job and the fizz will help loosen any stubborn smudges. Okay, furniture polish. Expensive, smelly, I'm not a fan. Make your own with a cup of cooled boiled water, a few drops of oil and a few drops of vinegar. Stir it up, decant it into a spray bottle and away you go. You'll want to get the proportions right so don't forget to test it on each surface type before spraying and you'll only need a little bit. Next up, oven cleaner. I hate cleaning the oven. Good old baking powder is brilliant at cutting through grease. Just mix a liberal scoopful with equal parts vinegar and lemon juice until you have a paste then away you go. If you're not that bothered about going 'all natural' you can add a squirt of washing up liquid to the mixture to help it froth and spread. Either way, you should find it cuts through the grease brilliantly. Now, shower cleaner. You know all those cleaners that promise a near miraculous streak-free shine? Just put neat white vinegar into an old spray bottle -- it'll get rid of soap residue just as well as the expensive brand cleaners! And finally, sink plug unblocker. Just pour half a cup of bicarb into the plug hole followed by half a cup of vinegar, wait for it to finish fizzing, then rinse through with warm water.
