Another real deal right here- this incredible piece has BIGTIME mojo- right out of the Kalamazoo factory from 1971!! In 1969, Gibson introduced the Deluxe Les Paul. Gibson had extra bodies lying around that had been routed out for P-90 pickups at the time. Gibson has purchased Epiphone in 1958, and Epiphone made the mini humbucker pickup. Those pickups fit perfectly into the shell of a P-90. The mini humbucker sound is incredible! To my ears, a bit brighter and more crisp. GREAT pickups!! 1969 was a big year of change for Gibson, and those changes are evident on this guitar. Norlin bought Gibson in 1969 and was now using pancake bodies. These consisted of 2 layers of maple and 2 layers of mahogany to create a guitar body. 3 piece maple tops were also being used as well as 3 piece mahogany necks. This Deluxe was owned by the same family for over 50 years and virtually un played! The frets look brand new still, even in the first position! Incredible!! Come along with us!!
