My fashion garments for today are the Love Notions Forte top and the glissandos One stretched my style the other my sewing skills. For so unexplained reason, I don’t gravitate toward irregular hem lines. Although this top has views that de-emphasie the tinkerbell type style, I decided to experiment and push myself to try something new. I choose the B view because suspected the neckline would flatter. The sleeve option I choose was combining a classic short sleeve with a feminne ruffle. The result was a success! I loved all the detailed except the hankercheif hem, which a cut off. The hem is unfinished so, that was easy peasy. Construction requires no overlocker/serger; it’s mostly sewn on the machine. The seam must be stopped 3/8” from the end so the neck edges can be turned under and finished. It is a quick sew. My next version started 6 months later and I Choose to skip the full belly adjustment. I am probably a “C” belly and its’ drafted for a “D”. But, then the night mare began. I totally fubbled the fly tutioral, the waist didn’t line up and the pockets didn’t secure into the fly. For the third orange pair of shorts I watched (many times) the jeans fly video on YouTube by Johanna Lundstrom; the last stitch I achieved Success.
