The Bamban Historical Society and Bamban WWII Museum's Field Recon Team explore of what remains of the Japanese supply dump tunnel that were constructed and used by the Imperial Japanese Forces during the Second World War.These are no ordinary tunnels; quite big with depth of more than 250 to 400 feet, capable of stocking large volumes of war materiel and supplies, and even anti tank guns and vehicles. At present, there are only a handful of these Japanese supply dump tunnels, on the slopes of Asahiyama. During 1944 and early 1945, the Takayama Detachment, Kembu Group became in charge of the supply depot of the whole composite division of both the Japanese Army and Navy forces at Clark Field, and the Bamban Depot, as it appears on the historical records of the Imperial Japanese Forces in 1945, became the supply base of all the Japanese units around Bamban -Clark area. The historical significance of these tunnels is immense, aside from the tourism potential that these are part of Bamban's heritage that should be protected, preserved, promoted, and developed for economic benefit that would help the LGU Bamban and the community. We urge our LGU Bamban to take consideration into the enactment of the preservation and promotion of these historical sites for the generations of the people of Bamban and the Filipino people to see part of our WWII History. #ww2museum #warrelics #tunnels #wartunnels #ww2
