Coke and Lava Nikon D800 and Gopro

The first can had a tiny hole punched in the top to prevent it from randomly exploding. I wanted to see if it would fountain as it heated up but, the can just sort of squirted coke. The second can was sealed but, fell over. The lava caused a leak on the lower side. The footage is first from my Nikon D800 and then my old GoPro Hero 2. I had to pull the GoPro away at the end not from the spraying coke but, due to its proximity to the quick-moving lobe of lava. The lava was flowing a bit too cool causing it to be less fluid. This series of videos is scientific in nature seeing how differing sealed objects react to the 2000-degree lava hitting it. If anyone's worried this is littering, relax. These items all melted. Think of it as returning metal/materials that we took from Mother Nature and planet Earth. Thanks, Earl..... Don't try this at home. Of course, if you do have a lava flow at your house, trying this is the least of your problems. Safety precautions were taken and only the GoPro was slightly in harm's way. By the end of this outing, most of my camera gear was just a bit sticky. There was limited room to move about so, settings are what they are. Yes, the cans are gone. There's nothing for future geologists to dig up. The island's legal and illegal landfills will keep them busy for decades if they haven't been covered by lava in the next 100 years or less. This wasn't shot in the national park. It was an area littered with over 30 years of hiker trash. Thanks for subscribing and watching. Many more videos to come. Be patient.
