Regeneration requires a mindset shift. It demands place-based design. It's catalysed by leaders willing to ask different questions. But there's a practical challenge beneath all of this: How do we ensure real engagement? The answer might surprise you: we need to see more clearly. This session explores how space-based technology—satellite data, AI, citizen science platforms—can become tools for engagement. When you can see from orbit what's happening to a watershed and when travellers can use their phones to document biodiversity and contribute to real monitoring. When AI helps interpret what a hotel's conservation efforts actually achieve. Suddenly, data becomes participatory. This session aims to explore this insight: technology doesn't replace relationship with place. It deepens it. So how do we use our best tools in service of regeneration, rather than letting tools determine what regeneration looks like?
