If you're thinking of driving from Toronto to Chicago, these driving tips will help you make the journey in comfort and style. From packing your car to choosing the right map, we've got you covered. Ready to take your Driving from Toronto to Chicago to the next level? In this video, we'll share our expert tips with you on how to make the drive a breeze. From packing light to choosing the right route, we'll make sure your trip is as smooth as possible! 1. No need to buy toll card. Toll is at the border and they accept CA credit cards. IL has toll roads but you can pay online on https://www.illinoistollway.com/payby.... Search and register for pay by plate Illinois after you rent the car - you will need number plate. 2. You have 14 days after your travel to do this. So no rush. Avoid I-90/skyway on your way in from Indiana to Chicago city. That road has tolls you need to pay by cash or need to have a toll card. If you are going to Chicago city straight maybe best to do google maps without toll roads. Switch to no toll option after you get in US otherwise it will route you through Sarnia. 3 - You will have ON Route pitstops every 60-90 mins in Canada. It has Tim Hortons, Burger King (I think), restrooms and wifi. It also has snack convenience store. 4. In US you will have rest areas every 60-90 mins. It won’t have food options. Just restroom. No wifi either. For food, you will have to take regular exits. These are the stops I recommend to take. CA-US: 1. Breakfast pick up at Tim Hortons near home 2. ONroute Tilbury 3. Lunch at Panera (Livonia, MI off I-96), fill gas nearby 4. Galesburg, MI rest area 5. Indiana Welcome Center rest area (take this stop - no stops after this and back will probably start to give up by now) US to CA: 1. Fill up gas & Pick up breakfast from nearby before hitting highway 2. New Buffalo welcome center rest area 3. Battle Creek rest area 4. Lunch at same Panera & gas nearby 5. ONroute Tilbury/West Lorne Tips: Keep yourself hydrated. Drink more so you are forced to take bio-breaks and stretch. It’s a long drive so frequent stops are better. Give 20-30 mins at border. I recommend to leave as early as possible in the morning around 6-7 am so with frequent stops, to reach by 4-5 pm. This is for both ways. Also helps with border crossing - queue is usually short by the time I get there. Keep watching Canada Tried and Tested
