Cigar Review Crowned Heads Mil Dias

Cigar Review Crowned Heads Mil Dias When Smoked: January 2024 Obtained from: received two from a promotional event Size: Double Robusto (6-3/8 inches x 50) Approximate cost: US$10 - $14 See ratings below Welcome to the first review from my winter cigar hut! This is the second Crowned Heads Mil Dias I’ve smoked. This one was aged in my humidor for 6-7 months, the first one did not impress me, so let’s see if this one does better. Mil Dias is Spanish for “1000 days,” which Crowned Heads says is the time it took to complete the blend from idea to first production cigar. That actually isn’t uncommon in cigar blending – cigar makers try sometimes dozens of iterations of a blend to get it just right. Specs on this cigar: There is some conflicting information on the wrapper – all the catalogs list the wrapper as Ecuadorian Habano, but I found one credible source that said the wrapper leaf was changed in 2021-2022 to Ecuadorian Cameroon (I added to the confusion in the video by mistakenly referring to it as Ecuadorian Sumatra instead of Camaroon – I corrected it later in the video. Sometimes I am clearly thinking one thing but something completely different comes out of my mouth. When I was married to my first wife, one time I meant to say, “Please pass the butter, darling.” Instead, it came out as, “You’re ruining my life you miserable harpy.” This is billed as a medium-full body cigar, and I would agree with that. A bit of black pepper made it about a 7/10 in terms of body and strength. Back to my cigar hut for a moment – the good points about it are: (1) temperature is 25-30F higher with the small heater I use, so in this video a 25F day saw about 48F inside the hut, (2) it is pleasant, I can still look outside and get plenty of light, (3) It fits one person comfortably, two is a bit tight but possible. Larger sizes are available. The only drawback is ventilation – by trial and error I’ve come up with the right amount to open the zipper flaps to naturally exhaust the vast majority of the smoke. If you’re interested in looking into this product, here is the link on Amazon. It is also available on Kohl’s Department store site, I would compare prices and availability. If you do buy from my link on Amazon I get a tiny cut of the proceeds, it doesn’t affect your price. https://www.amazon.com/EighteenTek-Li... Okay, back to the Mil Dias cigar. The first one I smoked several months ago, was not good. It tasted flat and uninteresting. The one in this video had been aged 6 or 7 months. It made all the difference – flavor was very, very good. A bit sweet, sort of like graham cracker with caramel. I’m a recent convert to aging, and this cigar really benefitted from it. If you’re interested in aging, check out this video    • Resting vs Aging Cigars - there is a diffe...   Burn was excellent, draw was (for my taste) perfect – not tight at all. There was a minor hiccup when cutting, a bit of wrapper chipped off. That often spells disaster, but this small chip didn’t get any bigger or lead to any unraveling. I am rating the Crowned Heads Mil Dias an 8.0/10 – that is a very good cigar. Some cigars don’t make the video cut.
