One of the most important court cases arising from the 1990s Yugoslav wars, the trial of former Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and three other Kosovo Liberation Army officers turned politicians, is being held at the Hague-based Kosovo Specialist Chambers. Thaci and his three co-defendants are charged with war crimes and crimes against humanity allegedly committed between March 1998 and September 1999 in Kosovo and neighbouring Albania during and just after the war with Serbian forces.
