BJD Targets Dilip Ray Over Rajya Sabha Poll | Allegations of Using Biju Patnaik’s Legacy | Odia News

In a fresh political controversy ahead of the Rajya Sabha election in Odisha, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) has levelled serious allegations against Dilip Ray. BJD leaders claimed that Dilip Ray is trying to use the legacy and photographs of Biju Patnaik on social media to seek votes from BJD MLAs. BJD spokesperson Lenin Mohanty alleged that attempts are being made to influence and even buy MLAs for the Rajya Sabha election, warning that such actions would be a “murder of democracy.” He also questioned how Dilip Ray, who is associated with the Bharatiya Janata Party but contesting as an independent candidate, can expect support from BJD while invoking Biju Patnaik’s legacy. On the other hand, BJP MLA Jayanarayan Mishra responded by saying that BJD and the Indian National Congress are scared that their MLAs might cross-vote.
