This video was uploaded in HD - make sure you select high res if it looks grainy All the blood, sweat, and years are worth it: Portland's latest (and greatest) downhill trail is officially open! Over 4 miles of shuttleable, long-travel bike appropriate goodness await you in scenic Idiotville, OR (the actual name), about an hour Northwest of Portland. Fear and Loaming has it all; steeps, off-camber rooty sections, fast corners, big jumps, amazing views... it's not hyperbole to call this trail world-class. 0:00 Starting Traverse 1:43 Start of first DH (steeps) 4:45 The 'Acid Drop' 6:28 The Clearcut (jumps) 7:04 The Traverse 12:03 The Sharkfin Section (jumps) 14:50 The Alders (berms) 15:50 "Gonzo" (35 foot stepdown) 17:53 The Sunbelt Stepup (it rolls better now) 18:19 The Steeps 19:03 The Lower Jumps (Skid Road, Goal Post and Ski Jump) 21:06 The final stepdown (Youtube Thumbnail image) This video was shot on the unofficial opening weekend; May 26, 2021, about an hour after we connected the final segment. (the trail runs faster now than in the video). Fear and Loaming wouldn't exist without the heroic efforts of a massive volunteer build crew. In the words of Ryan 'Trail Daddy' McLane, "This is so much more than just a trail". Please respect the builders by respecting trail closures (including closures of the shuttle access road during logging and gravel operations).
