A major firing incident has shaken Barnala, Punjab, creating panic in the area. The incident took place late at night near University College in the Sandhu Patti locality, where unknown assailants forcibly entered a house and opened indiscriminate fire, leaving three people seriously injured. According to the visuals from the spot, empty bullet shells found on the bed inside the house, live cartridges lying in the street, and blood scattered on the road clearly indicate the seriousness of the attack. Family members receiving treatment at the government hospital were seen showing their injuries, while police officials recorded statements and eyewitnesses shared their accounts. VO: If we look closely at the entire incident, the empty bullet shells recovered from the bed inside the house, live cartridges found in the alley, and blood spread across the road strongly suggest that this was a well-planned and serious attack. This shocking case has emerged from Barnala, where late last night, unknown attackers broke into a house near University College in the Sandhu Patti area and started firing. In the incident, two youths were critically injured after being hit by 5 to 6 bullets, while another man was also shot. All injured were rushed to Barnala Government Hospital, from where two critically injured victims were referred to AIIMS Bathinda. Byte – Dr. Rajkumar (Duty Doctor): The injured were brought in critical condition and given emergency treatment before being referred due to the severity of their injuries. At the government hospital, the injured mother Sarbjit Kaur, a Punjab Police Home Guard employee, broke down while speaking to the media. She said she was asleep at home when three unidentified youths broke the main gate and entered the house, opening fire on her 22-year-old son, Akashdeep Singh, who was sleeping inside the room. Akashdeep sustained serious gunshot injuries. She further alleged that when Akashdeep’s uncle Makhan Singh tried to take him to the hospital, the attackers again intercepted them on the way and opened fire, injuring Makhan Singh with two bullets in his hand. Sarbjit Kaur said that the family had received threats earlier and had repeatedly complained to the police, but no action was taken, resulting in this major incident today. She demanded strict legal action against the attackers. Eyewitnesses, including injured Makhan Singh and neighbor Tara Singh, also narrated the horrifying sequence of events. In a related incident nearby, another man, Arvind Kumar, was also shot and seriously injured.
