When you ride on the Most Beautiful Road in the World in out of season!!! So this is true. The Transfagarasan road is closed during winter because of the high snow. But when the summer is coming, they clean up the road making it drive-able. This is just the simple after-match of a simple winter. I had the opportunity to have a small ride between the season. Actually, this year the snow didn’t melt as fast as expected, creating a surprise for the tourists from other countries as the road was not accessible. It was for me also a great surprise, the road was empty, and it looked like a post-apocalyptic world. It was breathtaking and silent. You could see only a few people hiking or bicycling. If you want to ride on this road, try it in the summer season, but be prepared for a high number of tourists.
