In Book 3, Chapter 2 of the Bible Prophecy & Spiritual War series, we explore one of Jesus’ most important teachings: The Parable of the Sower. Jesus warned that hearing God’s Word is not the same as enduring in it. “He that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.” — Matthew 13:20–21 (KJV) In this teaching for young believers (ages 9–13), we learn why some faith grows strong while other faith slowly fades away. Jesus explained that faith can be tested by: • tribulation and persecution • pressure to fit in • the cares of this world • the deceitfulness of riches • the desire for comfort and approval Some people receive the Word with joy but fall away when following Jesus becomes difficult. Others appear to grow for a time, but the cares of the world slowly choke their faith. This chapter helps children understand why enduring faith must take deep root in God’s Word.
