Dr. Ovamir Anjum outlines the Ummatics ‘method’ for Muslim unification and civilisational renewal in the Anthropocene. He reads our moment (information explosion, climate crisis, extreme inequality) and argues that Islam’s spiritual revival has outpaced its political agency. The ummatic response: build independent institutions, think with (not merely within) the tradition, harness the global dispersion of Muslims. Dr. Ovamir Anjum is Professor and Endowed Chair of Islamic Studies at the University of Toledo; co-editor of the American Journal of Islam and Society; and Editor-in-Chief (Review Board), Yaqeen Institute.
