Apparently these were an answer to the Dialyt models from Zeiss Oberkochen. Similar to the western binoculars with internal focusing, these were available in the versions 8x32 and 10x40 and both variants with and without rubber armouring (Abbreviated "B" - Brillenträger - for glasses wearer version and "GA" - Gummi-Armierung - for rubber armored). The early versions of the NOTAREM binoculars apparently had problems with the internal focusing mechanism. However, this was fixed in later versions. Like all other binoculars from Carl Zeiss Jena, the NOTAREM models were available with T3M (Multi-Coated - MC) coatings from the end of the 1970s. After the Carl Zeiss Jena plant in Eisfeld was taken over by Docter Optic in 1991 the production of some classic Zeiss models was continued for a few years. On the basis of the NOTAREM, Docter Optic produced the Aspherical 8x32 and 10x40 models, which have a very innovative design.
