This video describes the components and function of the CJC® PTU2, and PTU2 "Thruster Filter" The PTU2 is an offline oil filtration system that combines continuous water separation with oil filtration and is built to remove contamination as well as demulsible oils (oils with the ability to shed water). It is designed to work in any environment where water has a high tendency to contaminate oil used in a process. These segments include power, marine, mining, and industrial operations such as pulp and paper. The PTU2 comes in 3 varieties: -Basic: PTU2 27/27 P or PTU2 27/27 PV, with manual water drain -Standard: PTU2 27/27 PV-E2W, with automatic water drain and discharge controller -Deluxe: PTU2 27/27 PV-DE2H1PW "Thruster Filter" with automatic water drain, drip pan, heaters, and control box Some of the more common applications are pulp refiners, steam turbines, ship hydraulics, and mining drills. CJC® PTU filter separators work by using a special blend of fibers that cause water to bead on the surface and cascade down the outside of the insert, where it collects at the bottom of the housing.
