Welcome back for our latest family travel vlog, our outback road trip takes a turn for the ocean and we take you along as we make a seachange and chase the fresh coastal air. After visiting the Qantas Founders Museum and Saltbush retreat in Longreach we take you all on a Roadtrip. We leave from the gateway to the Australian outback and take the 13-hour drive to the ocean stopping in Barcaldine, Jericho, and Emerald. Jericho is a unique little town that has the world's smallest drive-in movie theatre, it was established in 1969 airing the Mums favorite The Sound of Music and services 32 cars and 34 patrons at any one time. If you are near this little town on the 3rd Sunday of the month stop by and see a movie, tell them The Somewhere Tribe sent you. Emerald is named after the gemstone and sports a 25-meter tall likeness of the Vincent Van Gogh painting named Sunflowers, the story is that before the discovery of Gemstones the region was covered in Sunflower fields and the painting is an homage to the farmers of the past. Barcaldine has the tree of knowledge that paid witness to the creation of the Australian Labour Party and in Rockhampton, we sit down to one of the cities best steaks.
