The Engine Room Rebuild Continues | 58’ Viking Project I Ep 9

The rebuild of my 58’ Viking continues, and in this episode we’re back in the engine room doing more fiberglass work to get everything ready for the new engines. Before the motors can go in, the entire engine room needs to be structurally sound and built properly. That means a lot of grinding, fiberglassing, reinforcing, and cleaning up areas that have seen years of wear. It’s not always the most exciting part of a rebuild, but it’s one of the most important steps if the boat is going to be done right. This project has been a massive undertaking, and every time I think we’re getting close, the boat seems to reveal one more thing that needs attention. But with each step, we’re getting closer to the day the new engines finally go back in. It’s a long process, but the goal is to bring this 58’ Viking back stronger and better than ever.
