Is this New York City’s coolest neighborhood? New Yorkers know Bushwick mostly for its nightlife, but what goes on during the day? Why do I love spending the afternoon there? I live in Manhattan so there’s plenty to keep me busy in my own neighborhood, but Bushwick has a special vibe. It’s friendly, creative, and unpretentious. The shops are mostly independent, artists have transformed the industrial buildings with graffiti murals, and there’s a ton of great food. In the middle of it all, Maria Hernandez Park is a truly communal gathering place with some of the best people-watching in the city. Today is my day off, and I’m heading to Bushwick just like I often do, except today I’m bringing you along! You’ll see the appeal for yourself, including the shops along Knickerbocker Avenue (Circo’s Bakery here we come), Bushwick’s world-famous street art, a relaxing and tasty lunch at Los Hermanos, and two of my favorite vintage stores in all of New York City. We’ll end with a stroll through the park. It’s my idea of a perfect afternoon in Brooklyn. 🕒 TIME STAMPS 🕒 0:00 Intro 0:20 Getting There-Subway 2:36 Knickerbocker Avenue 3:48 Browsing Collectibles 4:14 Real Cannoli at Circo’s Bakery 6:06 Colorful Street Art 7:48 Lunch Quesadilla 8:55 Thrift Shoppping 10:33 Maria Hernandez Park -------------- #BlackInTheCore #BlackInNYC #BeingBlackInNYC #BlackUrbanLife #NYCVlog #NYCNeighborhoods #NYCSubway #UrbanExploration #Bushwick #MariaHernandezPark #BushwickStreetArt #NYCFood #NYCStreetArt #CityCulture #NYCThrifting #VintageShopping #LTrainVintage #UrbanJungle #BushwickBrooklyn #OuterBoroughs
