Join us as we explore another gem in the South of France – Hyères! 🏰 This charming town surprised us with its historical richness, stunning views, and local charm. Our day started with an unexpected surprise as we stumbled upon a French military event, commemorating the 8th of May (Victory in Europe Day) in the town’s main square. 🇫🇷 After soaking in the ceremony, we wandered through the picturesque old town, with its cobbled streets, historic buildings, and boutique shops. A peaceful walk led us to the ruined castle of Hyères, offering breathtaking views over the region. Our journey didn’t stop there. After exploring the town and enjoying a local exhibition in the old tower, we treated ourselves to a lovely lunch in a quaint restaurant. Next, we embarked on a unique olive oil tasting experience, trying different varieties at a place recommended by friends. 🫒 The flavors were intense and surprising – especially the slight scratchiness in the throat, which we hadn’t expected. Of course, we had to take some bottles home as souvenirs! The day’s final adventure led us to the “Chartreuse de la Verne,” an ancient Carthusian monastery nestled in the peaceful countryside.
