WEST SPRINGFIELD, PA – At around 8:30 AM, crews from Springfield Vol. Fire Dept. were dispatched to a reported shed fire in the 13700 block of Ridge Road in West Springfield. The initial calls indicated that a shed was on fire. Upon Springfield going enroute, dispatch advised first responders that the fence was on fire in addition to an additional storage unit which was fully involved in flames. When firefighters arrived on scene, heavy fire conditions were seen coming from both storage units from behind the residence. Firefighters quickly pulled a hand line from an engine and put water on the fire. Tanker trucks and additional engines supplied Springfield's engine with water to fight the fire. Crews were on scene for an extended time to ensure that all hotspots were fully extinguished. Springfield was assisted by help from Conneaut Fire Department (OH), Cranesville Volunteer Fire Department, Platea Volunteer Fire Company, A.F. Dobler Hose & Ladder Co., and Lake City Fire Company.
