NPR Tiny Desk 2026 Contest Entry for Moongold (song Jam Suspect). Jam Suspect is a blues-leaning song about falling in love under the stars and was recorded live, at Ivakota Studios in Washington DC by LJR Creative. For many years, Jam Suspect was a fun instrumental jam. After Covid, when we were finally able to get back together in the backyard to play music together, we added lyrics with our friend Sara Kieser. We hope this rendition captures the joy we felt finally getting to play music with friends again. Originally from Colorado, Moongold has found new footing in Washington, DC. While Moongold has been playing together in various forms for years, this session marked the first time we brought this full lineup into a room together. What made it special was how quickly it clicked. Marc, Najeé and Adam have been playing together for a couple years, but adding horns and keys opened the songs up in a new way. The arrangements feel looser, brighter, and more joyful with Bronson, Frank, Michael and Sriram. Thanks for your amazing playing!
