Sutherlands Lumber & Home Improvement Center (Former Kmart!) (Casper, Wyo) | Optopolis

Sutherlands Home Improvement Center in Casper, Wyoming was originally a Kmart, coincidentially the exact same style as one of Cheyenne's Kmarts! SUTHERLANDS PENCILS! HAPPY SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY! This Kmart was Casper's second Kmart location, their third one being a Big Kmart, soon to be U-Haul. Speaking of which, you should check out my video of that location, linked below. Coincidentially, one year after Casper's second Kmart opened, Cheyenne would also open it's second Kmart store, which was laid out in the opposite pattern. For whatever reason, this was the one store to be filmed twice, linked below as well. This location, I do miss it, as I visited it fairly regularly for supplies over the years, and while the store is gone, I still have carpentry pencils from this store, definitely my earliest item I've collected in terms of retail. Perhaps even more coincidentially, this store would also become a Sutherlands in 1994, a few years before Casper's Sutherlands opened, but sadly, this location would close in late 2015, while the Casper location still moves forward strong. Oh yeah, they just bought the Big Kmart in Riverton, Wy, and are going to open a new location there, once again giving two locations to Wyoming residents. Thanks for watching!!
