I completed my engine rebuild and have it installed and running in the truck. Wanted to do a walk around video that others can use as reference. I like seeing pictures and videos of other people's work for inspiration or to help figure out how something goes back together. I switched to a mechanical temp probe, which requires a reducer bushing and plumbing fitting. The reducer I think I got from Jim Carter's, but the probe fitting I used from the hardware store is a 3/8" FL x 3/8" FIP. Then I had to drill out the inside a bit to fit the temp probe. My temp gauge is from Jim Carter's truck parts (oldchevytrucks.com) Not sure of other parts houses use the same size probe, but that FIP fitting worked for me. Disclaimer - I am not a professional mechanic. I am a hobby restorer and am sharing these videos for the benefit of other people looking for more info about these trucks.
