Take a quick 3-minute tour of one of the most iconic courses in American golf—Harbour Town Golf Links at Sea Pines Resort. Originally designed by Pete Dye with input from a young Jack Nicklaus, Harbour Town is a masterclass in precision and strategy. It’s not about overpowering the course—it’s about plotting your way around it. Tight corridors, tiny greens, and plenty of shot variety keep even the best players guessing. This video dives into the architectural details that make Harbour Town so unique, including the recent updates led by Davis Love III, who knows the course as well as anyone in the game. As part of the work, nearly a dozen stacked sod-walled bunkers were reintroduced—restoring what Dye originally built before they crumbled away in the '70s and evolved into more severe slopes. The result? A course that feels refreshed while staying completely true to its roots. And as John Farrell put it best: “There aren’t many other courses where you can hit it in the fairway and still have to shape it around a tree to get to the pin. You must shape your shots, hit it high, hit it low, turn it right, turn it left. You’re going to have 14 dirty clubs when you’re finished.” When news of the updates came out, noted golf course architect Tom Doak and more than a few PGA Tour pros had one simple request: “Just don’t ruin it.” They didn’t. If anything, they sharpened what was already brilliant. #HarbourTownGolfLinks #SeaPinesResort #PeteDyeDesign #DavisLoveIII #GolfArchitecture #SodWallBunkers #ClassicGolfCourses #CalibogueSound #ShotMakersCourse #PGATourFavorites #GolfRestoration #Top100Golf #GolfCourseTour #SouthCarolinaGolf #HistoricGolfDesign
