Witnessing a 2000 Year Old Tradition in Chiang Mai

I woke up well before the sun rose to see this; the morning alms collection by the monks of Chiang Mai at Wat Chedi Luang. The monks cannot posses any money, so every morning, they walk the streets with alms bowls to collect everyday needs to survive. They are literally fed and clothed by the community, entirely supported by them. Truly amazing to witness. I spent the rest of the day exploring some temples and listening to prayers in contemplation of what I had experienced so far over this wonderful trip. Thai Buddhism really resonated with me, and this is the turning point in my mental shift for what Thai Buddhism is.
