“Whatever happens. Don’t blame yourself” What if Final Fantasy VII Rebirth was a blockbuster movie? And what would its trailer look like? Featuring composer @AlexMoukalaMusic 's “Embrace Your Dreams” and the film’s theme song “No Promises to Keep” composed by Nobou Uematsu. It's finally here! A cinematic style trailer for the game Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. A follow-up to the Remake one I made about a year ago, these “epic” trailers aim for a more blockbuster approach, so don’t expect any gameplay. I use only cutscenes from the game and editing techniques similar to those seen in official movie trailers. I started this early March, I was already planning to make a Rebirth trailer almost immediately after finishing the Remake one, but you see I couldn’t then because the game wasn’t out yet. Thursday 29th finally arrived, I got the game, rushed through it and had it done by the Sunday morning at 2:48 AM (not checking PSNprofiles). Then I FINALLY started to work on it, I’d already asked Alex’s permission to re-use his “Embrace Your Dreams” track, it’s the same one I originally used in the Remake trailer, albeit this time I was only planning to use the first minute or so (which was never used in Remake's). The second half was “No Promises to Keep”, I think the hardest part I had with this song was trying to cut the damn thing down so you wouldn’t be sat for nearly 8+ minutes like you’re watching a Hideo Kojima trailer. Eventually I managed to bring it down, I mean, a few movie trailers are just around 3 minutes, so the runtime isn’t too long. I also used “Those Chosen by the Planet” from Remake’s original soundtrack, I was listening to in on repeat back in January and I couldn’t resist using it to open the trailer. In the previous trailer, Sephiroth only appeared at the very end, teasing him right before the title comes up. But with Rebirth, I wanted to introduce him straightaway, considering he’s a lot more important in this game, and the Remake version of “Those Chosen by the Planet” is just SO GOOD. It's also the perfect length for this introduction. You’re not even 15 seconds in and the song already sets the tone, giving you the impression that this man isn’t very friendly. The main focus of this trailer is Aerith (I wonder why, could have been Cait Sith). I tried to keep the footage as spoiler-free as possible, but there’s a couple of clips I just had to throw in because they work incredibly well with the song. Like last time, all the footage was recorded through the PS5, I used the same weapon/materia loadouts as the ones used in the official Square promotional material. Can’t have Cloud running around with an Igneous Saber. For a change, I decided to do this video is in 4K, which dragged the editing out a little longer. But in the end, I’m glad I did, and despite almost having 180GB of total game footage, it really pays off seeing ALL the realistic PORES and individual STRANDS of HAIR. That’s enough talking for now, because christ this description is getting long. I hope you have all enjoyed watching this trailer, and I also hope it made some of you emotional, because that’s the key reaction I wanted to achieve when making this AH HA HA HA HAA TIDUS Looking back, this may be a little more slower-paced compared to Remake, but with a song like this, it’s pretty difficult to include HUGE action sequences. But hey, “less is more” or something. If you’re interested, feel free to stick around this channel. There’s bound to be more content on the way (please god), and I hope you a WONDERFUL rest of your day! :D Thanks for watching! #finalfantasy #ffvii #ff7
