And like its predecessor, it is inspired by the legendary analog KORG Mono/Poly; together, they are two of the synthesizers that promise to accumulate some of the most intense levels of follow-up in this new 2025. Next-level analog modeling with redesigned filters and oscillators Those glorious days of Mono/Poly bring to mind an unusually rich sound over four stacked oscillators. But both the revamped keyboard and the new Korg multi/poly module are not mere emulations – not at all. Their creators are talking about “next-generation analog modeling technology.” We note, for example, that each voice has “a virtual voice card” that models the variations of the electronic components of the analog hardware, in order to “generate naturally rich timbres,” Korg says. And those voice cards in the multi/poly module continue to play, even when they are not being listened to; that allows the envelopes to evolve, the oscillators and LFOs to maintain their phase, and the resonance to continue to sound. Aside from the format and appearance, the rest of the features are the same as in the previous version with a keyboard – without the said controller, obviously. Although the keyboard was released earlier than the new Korg multi/poly module, neither of them are actually available yet. The former should appear in stores in mid-February 2025. And the new version is expected to be available in Spring, around May of this year. We do know that the recommended price of the keyboard will be €949, so the new rack version should be just under €800 – although it is still too early to be sure. ----------------------------------------- [ESP] El nuevo Korg multi/poly module retoma lo ya visto y oído con la versión teclado, dándole la forma alternativa y tan práctica de módulo. Y al igual que su hermano precedente, está inspirado en el analógico legendario KORG Mono/Poly; juntos, son dos de los sintetizadores que prometen acumular algunos de los niveles de seguimiento más intensos en este nuevo 2025. Pero tanto el teclado renovado como el nuevo Korg multi/poly module no consisten en simples emulaciones –nada de eso. Y es que sus creadores nos hablan de "una tecnología de modelado analógico de nueva generación". Destacamos, por ejemplo, que cada voz tiene "una tarjeta virtual de voz" que modela las variaciones de los componentes electrónicos del hardware analógico, para así "generar timbres naturalmente ricos", dicen desde Korg. Y esas tarjetas de voz en multi/poly module continúan en reproducción, incluso cuando no son escuchadas; eso permite que las envolventes evolucionen, los osciladores y los LFO mantengan su fase, y la resonancia siga sonando. Más allá del formato y el aspecto, el resto de las funcionalidades son las mismas que en la versión precedente con teclado –sin dicho controlador, obviamente. A pesar de que el teclado se anticipó en su lanzamiento al del nuevo Korg multi/poly module, ninguno de los dos está aún disponible en realidad. El primero debería aparecer por las tiendas a mediados de Febrero de 2025. Y se espera que la nueva versión está disponible allá por Primavera, en torno al mes de Mayo de este año.
