Jeanne D'Arc Sony PSP Not being a great fan of cutesy cutesy RPG's, with cartoon styled graphics I wasn't expecting much from this game. Suprisingly, I actually liked this one. The storyline is pretty good and keeps you intrested from the start. The game is essentially a turn based RPG which is broken into different stages, each being seperated by a short cartoon cutscene. Starting off with your main character Jeanne and her minder, you quickly gain new recruits to your party in the way of fortune, or by chance encounters. The action is all turned based, you can move each member of your party, choose to attack or use spells or special skills ect The game starts at an easy level and its quite easy to level up each character, even in the first few stages. The action is viewed from above, in an isometric top down viewpoint. This method is rather simple but it's well inplemented with nicely detailed scenery that is different in each stage of the game. As you'd expect from any decent RPG, there's the option to buy and sell weapons, armour and spells at shops, these appear at various points on the map, generally before you start the next stage. The games graphics are well done with lots of variety and decent cutscene cartoons, the only thing i could fault is the lack of spoken dialogue, this would have been a nice finishing touch, instead your left to read text dialogues. I'm not sure of the overall size of Jeanne D'arc, but this games certainly worth a look if you like turn based RPG's. 7.8/10 rated.
