How do you prepare young diplomats to navigate a world in crisis? Geopolitical tensions, economic instability, climate insecurity, and biodiversity loss are just some of the major challenges that future policymakers will face. Joanna Sullivan teaches at CIFE in the "Joint Master in EU Trade and Climate Diplomacy" (EUDIPLO), a programme that trains the next generation of European diplomats. In this interview, we asked her what advice she gives students confronted with today's global polycrisis. Rather than focusing on the scale of the problems, Joanna emphasises the positive prospects ahead - and the real potential young diplomats have to make a difference. We discussed collaborative leadership, and how AI could become a powerful tool in finding answers to some of the world's most pressing questions. EUDIPLO is a joint one-year Master programme organised by CIFE and Luiss School of Government, with study terms in Rome, Berlin, and Nice.
