Unfolding a 3D object to 2D in FreeCAD is essential for cutting on a Laser or plasma or any other fabrication method that requires a 2D output. There are a number of workflows available but with this model with have a object that is similar to something that has been made in a sheet metal process so we have to unwrap it in a specific way.
