Two-Day Winter Camping in a Heavy Snowstorm and Extreme Cold In this video, I find a large fallen tree to spend the night high up in the forested mountains — in below-zero temperatures, heavy snowfall, and real winter conditions — planning to stay overnight deep in the wilderness. The fire burned all night, and the shelter stayed warm. My sleep system includes an insulated sleeping pad and a merino wool sheepskin. I stayed warm and comfortable throughout the night, and the fire kept going nonstop, while my dog slept warmly and comfortably beside me. The shelter built under the large tree is waterproof and provides excellent protection from winter snowstorms. I used the large tree as a natural wall to protect myself from the cold and wind. This is a two-day winter camping adventure. No tent, no sleeping bag, and no outside support — in conditions like these, even a small mistake can lead to hypothermia, frostbite, or worse.
