Struggling to navigate early position vs big blind when 40 big blinds deep? In this poker strategy video, Jonathan Little fires up PeakGTO to break down this common tournament poker dilemma! If you're serious about learning how to dominate tournament poker and improving your overall tournament poker game, mastering these spots is essential! When the board is very dynamic, meaning it contains flush or straight draws and the nuts is likely to change on future streets, you generally want to use large bet sizes such as pot sized bets. The nuts are likely to shift by the river, so you should polarize your range with your strongest poker hands, drawing hands, and bluffs to remain balanced in your poker strategy. Small pairs that are underpairs to the board often make great bluffing candidates. They unblock the weakest parts of your opponent’s range and have decent equity when they improve to a set on the turn or river. Bluffing with these hands also forces folds from hands with equity, such as unpaired hands or draws, which might otherwise be able to take the pot away from you on later streets if you check back. A useful guideline to follow on the river when deciding between value betting or checking is to consider the size of your bet. You should typically be willing to bet at least half the pot if you believe your hand is good enough to do so. If your hand isn’t strong enough to value bet for at least half pot, checking is often the better option. Jonathan Little analyzes live poker hands from TV poker shows such as Poker After Dark, Hustler Casino Live, The Lodge Poker Club & PokerGO. He also analyzes popular poker vloggers such as Rampage Poker, Brad Owen, Jaman Burton, Ashley Sleeth, Wolfgang Poker and others! You will also find many poker hands on this channel that contain some of the biggest names in the poker world such as; Daniel Negreanu, Phil Hellmuth, Phil Ivey, Doug Polk, Garrett Adelstein, Tom ‘Durrrr’ Dwan, Dan ‘Jungleman’ Cates, Fedor Holz & many more! #pokerstrategy #pokertips #gtopoker
