I made this recording to explain how Bitwig Studio uses macros in their devices, specifically the drum machine device, and explore how to replicate this in Logic Pro X Drum Machine Designer. What I could not find, until I made this video, was the automation used to activate and control the devices in Bitwig, however this still makes a valid point, as this automation seems to be recorded into the device, so when drum programming, it will be there, without your having to draw it in. You place a kick note, the automation automatically appears. You place a high hat, the automation automatically appears. These notes are not played in with the keyboard, they are drawn in. I didn't draw in this automation, it automatically appears when I draw in (click in) notes in the sequencer (the Bitwig Arran Therefore the creator of the device preset (Bitwig) somehow created a parameter where the automation will always appear with the device, notes, and presets, every time you open it, and draw in midi notes. The query was how to do this in Logic. Though I explained it incorrectly (I couldn't find the preprogrammed automation when asking how to do this in Logic Pro X's Drum Machine Designer), the query, though slightly changed, remains the same, which is how do you create a drum kit in LPX, with this saved automation.
