https://www.wright-bros.com/ea-6b-pro... Developed from the Grumman A6 Intruder, the EA-6B Prowler was the first specifically designed tactical electronic warfare aircraft in the United States Military. Intended to suppress enemy radar and communication systems, the Prowler would decode and jam hostile signals, while simultaneously escorting strike aircraft to their targets. As a derivative of the A6 Intruder, the Prowler shares most of its airframe components, but with several specific changes. Most notably, the nose of the aircraft is enlarged to carry 4 crew members, with 1 pilot and 3 electronic warfare officers. Though its main purpose is to jam enemy signals, the Prowler can also carry specific ordinance, such as the AGM-88 HARM anti-radar missile. This weapon locks onto hostile radar emissions and guides in on the target, headed for wherever the last signal came from. In order to increase their efficiency, the onboard jamming receivers can even detect and identify which targets are the priority. First to take on the EA-6B Prowler in 1971, the VAQ-132 “Scorpions” are a tactical electronic warfare squadron which carries out numerous types of jamming or strike missions. Based out of NAS Whidbey Island in Washington, the Prowler provided support for numerous different strike groups across the globe, serving in missions such as Operation Deny Flight and Desert Storm as both strike and electronic jamming aircraft. Die-Cast version has an accurate weathered paint scheme, etched panel lines, pad printed decals, and opening canopies with their respective figurines. Also features optional magnetic landing gear, folded wings, deployed service doors, open radar housing, and full kit of weaponry that magnetically attaches to the pylons! Measures 10”l with a 8.75” wingspan at 1:72 scale and includes a metal display stand to show the model in flight!
