Wiscasset Waterville and Farmington Railway

The Wiscasset Watererville & Farmington Railway is located in Alna, ME. This railroad was the main reason for my trip to Maine. With that being said, the day started a little rocky for me. As I was getting out of my truck and getting my cameras ready for the day, it occurred to me that I had left my tripod back at the campground. A major "oh sh*t" moment. I didn't have time to drive back and get it before our train left. As a result, many of these shots were without a tripod, sorry. My dear wife drove back later in the day so that I had it for the evening photos. The place is an amazing time warp. A photo shoot was held in the evening with several World War 1 reenactors. The scenes were timeless. What impressed me more than the staged scenes were the non staged scenes! The crew are often dressed in period clothing and rarely did they use modern technology. The entire place has a very authentic feel. The right of way is still getting longer and several other major projects are coming along. I look forward to visiting again in a few years.
