Many years later I was blessed to personally meet bassman Aston "Family Man" Barrett in Alaska, a fascinating human being, one of the nicest kindest people I ever met in my life. ‪@dutchsoulman9967‬ , Ohhh Yeah , i was 16 years old back then ,and lived whitin 10 min walk from the Edenhal ,Ive use to play icehockey in this Hall as was opened in oct.1973 ..So i knew this hall real well , then posters on the street.. Bob Marley &The Wailers would play the Edenhal, well ive came i dont knew how many hours before the show and waited to get in , and run in front of the stage..Even my english was extreme limited at that time i knew each word of each song real well , and sing my heart out !!,(like everybody did ‪@janeeigenhuis9073‬ As a visitor of the concert I recall that a lot of Surinamese fans forced their entry after about 20 minutes and were then standing in front of the stage. That's why you hear people call "Zitten/sit down". They couldn't see the band anymore ! .... This brings back a lot of good memories. ‪@TheMrBennito‬ best concert I ve ever attended. by far. And I did not know my football teammate Lex van Rossen was there to shoot pictures!! ‪@mvl6827‬ I was there too. Wouldn’t have missed it for the world. There was Bob and the band and an enormous Haile Selassie wallhanging was rolled down behind the band. To get a better view I climbed on the railings that surround the running tracks and balanced there between foot-proof Surinamers during the entire concert.
