https://www.vogue.co.uk/article/joe-a... First Audition “First audition I’ve had would likely have been for a school play, when I was about 10, 9 or 10 at school. We had a school production of Tintin and I was the dog, Snowy. So I had to crawl around on the floor in cricket whites and I barked a lot. First film audition I had was by a brilliant casting director ... who put me forward for a film, put me forward for Love Actually, and I obviously didn’t get the part but I remember reading some scenes with Hugh Grant when I was very young.” First Job “I don’t know if it counts as a job but at school, when I was a lot younger I used to burn CD’s and bring them in to sell them to people if they didn’t have them, or their parents wouldn’t let them buy them. So if you needed 50 Cent’s latest album and your parents wouldn’t let you get it then I was the person to come to.” First Album “First album I bought would have been, I think What’s The Story (Morning Glory) by Oasis” First Crush “First movie crush was, strangely, anyone who was French I liked and I think that just kind of fixated eventually on Marion Cotillard.” First Pet “Growing up I had so many pets and animals from tortoises to guinea pigs to mice, but I think the first pet I had was a fish which isn’t as glamorous and was called Rainbow Starr after Ringo Starr.” First Film “First film I really, really loved would be Zorro with Anthony Hopkins and Antonio Banderas and I was obsessed with it and I wanted to be Zorro, and I was obsessed with it and I used to go around the house scratching little Z’s like he does with the sword in the film, underneath a table or like a chair or back of radiators and it was actually because of that I took up fencing lessons when I was a lot younger and it was at the fencing lesson that this casting director came around and saw me and asked me to audition for Love Actually. It was because of her I kind of started having interest in doing that. So thank you Zorro.”
