CFMoto 450MT vs Kawasaki Versys-X 300 — Full Acceleration & Performance Test

We compared the real-world performance and acceleration of the CFMoto 450MT and Kawasaki Versys-X 300, with both riders weighing around 90 kg. Each motorcycle was fully fueled for the test. The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 weighs about 177 kg (without luggage), while the CFMoto 450MT comes in at 190 kg (without luggage). The CFMoto 450MT carried a medium touring load — side bags, front soft panniers, a central tail bag, and a top case — total luggage weight around 30 kg. The Kawasaki Versys-X 300 had a top case (10 kg), a central tail bag (15 kg), and two small side bags (3 kg each) — total luggage weight around 31 kg. It’s also worth noting that the rider on the CFMoto 450MT has less riding experience, which may slightly affect shifting precision and throttle control during acceleration tests. Another important factor is the tires: the CFMoto 450MT was equipped with new, more aggressive 70/30 dual-sport tires (70% road / 30% off-road), while the Kawasaki Versys-X 300 used worn Avon TrailRider tires with about 80% wear, designed mainly for pavement (85/15 road/off-road). This difference in tire grip and rolling resistance could also slightly influence acceleration and handling results. We tested how both motorcycles accelerate, respond to throttle, and handle under realistic touring conditions — with moderate luggage, full fuel tanks, and equal rider weight. Test results showed that overall, both motorcycles deliver very similar performance and dynamics.
