If you listen to the US news about Mexico, you'll probably never go, but hopefully this will give you a taster of what it's like to cycle through the northern part of this beautiful peninsula. Cycling in Baja California after the Pacific Coast Highway was quite a culture shock! The roads around Tijuana were a bit stressful and busy, but after that, we headed up into the high desert on Highway 3 up into the mountains towards the Sea of Cortez. The biggest shocks so far have been the lack of clean drinking water and showers, so we are pretty grubby and carrying a lot of water. However, we are having the best time! Also, all the drivers on the roads are so friendly! Everyone waves and hoots in a friendly way, it's so nice. To all the Americans who warned us against Mexico, you were wrong!
