In this video created by artist and art teacher Nicholas Hankins, he shows you how to paint a red rose. Nicholas Hankins goes through everything from the colors you'll need on your palette to the types of brushes that work best to the various strokes to create everything from the background to the three dimensional rose itself. Nic has taught many classes at the World of Color Expo. For the 2016 WOCE, for example, he taught folks how to pain an expansive and striking landscape he termed Sunset Mountain. As you watch this video, imagine yourself sitting in class just a few feet behind him, able to ask questions while you work on your own version of this painting. You'll learn so much from these first-hand experiences, and get to meet plenty of other fellow students as well! The World of Color Expo is an annual, week-long event. The 2017 edition will be held from Nov 6-11 at the Washington Dulles Hilton Hotel in Herndon, VA. Registration will be open at our website in mid-January 2017!
