Recently, a non-profit called the Institute for Advanced Study has broken ground to build a housing unit for their faculty members on Maxwell Field, a site that was crucial during the Revolutionary War. NJ Senators, Bob Smith a Democrat, and Kip Bateman a Republican, put their alignments aside to host an improptu Senate Environmental Committee hearing to hear testimony from those opposing the project.
