In President Joe Biden’s third State of the Union address, he pledged to protect and expand cost savings made possible by the Affordable Care Act, as well as allow Medicare to negotiate prices for more prescription drugs. “Americans pay more for their prescription drugs than anywhere in the world. It’s wrong, and I’m ending it,” Biden said. He also touted his administration’s effort to increase research into women’s health issues. Biden’s March 7 address comes as he seeks reelection against likely Republican nominee former President Donald Trump.
