Mercedes-Benz is preparing a crossover model based on the MMA architecture, which will also underpin the upcoming CLA. The 2026 Mercedes-Benz GLB will carry on with the boxy appearance we know from the current generation but with a more stylish design. Both combustion and EV variants will be offered, and our photographers have caught them both heavily disguised. Mercedes-Benz is overhauling its vehicle lineup starting at the bottom, with the upcoming CLA Class slated for launch next year. The Mercedes-Benz CLA is based on the Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA), which is set to enable a wide range of body styles, vehicle sizes, and even propulsion variants. Initially introduced as an EV-only architecture with the CLA Concept, the MMA platform is now touted as "EV-first" instead. The second model using the same architecture will be the GLB, which is unsurprising, considering that the A-Class and B-Class have always been related. The compact crossover will arrive on the market in late 2025 or early 2026 and is likely to start sales in the US as a 2026 or even 2027 model. As with the CLA, the Mercedes-Benz GLB will be offered with both combustion engines and electric power.
