On Thursday, January 15, 2026 Nebraska Cattlemen hosted a Cattle Edge Webinar on feed considerations after a wet year with Rebecca Kern-Lunberry with Ward Labs. The webinar will covered: Wet haying conditions change more than moisture levels. Excess moisture, rain damage, and heating can significantly reduce usable forage quality. See what our 2024 and 2025 NIRS data reveals. Wet falls create grazing opportunities but also nutritional gaps. Pasture and volunteer forage quality can be highly variable, making it critical to evaluate protein, energy, and mineral needs to ensure proper supplementation. Mycotoxin risk rises after wet growing seasons. Corn grain and byproducts like DDGS often show more complex, co-occurring mycotoxins. Learn what we’re seeing in lab samples and what to watch for when feeding stored grains. For any questions regarding the the webinar you can email Nebraska Cattlemen's Director of Producer Education, Bonita Lederer, at blederer@necattlemen.org.
